Looking at the suburbs of Dallas, from a facial perspective, the area seems economically stable. Bustling cars, growing suburbs, high-quality infrastructure, and healthy populations. But as I did more and more research about Dallas, Texas, I found out that this city actually has one of the highest rates of poverty in the United States of America.

In fact, Dallas has the highest number of people living under 185 percent of the poverty line. Along with that, between 35 percent to 40 percent of residents in FIVE zip codes in southern Dallas live in poverty! Simply seeing these numbers was shocking. Worse, yet the poverty rate in Dallas seems to be growing, and authorities predict it won't stop soon. On top of that, having COVID in play makes it much harder for those struggling to get back on their feet or find financial security.
To minimize the alarming rates of poverty in this bustling city, many organizations, trusts, and food pantries are actively helping out. Their causes are doing fantastic jobs at helping those in need. Likewise, many organizations have noticed the struggle of this city, and many organizations are set out to help fix the problem.

Some of the organizations include the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), Minnie's Pantry, the Frisco Family Services, Refresh, Penny for Many, and Code Crimson! If you have the ability to do so, these organizations are lovely, and partaking in their organizations or giving them donations will be a great help to the Dallas poverty population.
Our NEXT blog will feature the reasons for why Dallas poverty is occurring and still increasing!
